Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are so yummy its not funny. I always make extra caramel sauce to pop in the fridge for a great ice cream topper later (so bad, but soooo good)

To make the caramel sauce, bring 2 cups of sugar and 1/2 cup of water to the boil, then turn to a simmer for about 8 minutes or until caramel is golden and brown. 
Remove from heat and carefully stir in 1/2 a cup of thick cream. Leave to cool for 5 minutes.

I had some crushed peanuts, and pecans to also put on the apples but my 'helper' must have been hungry because they all mysteriously went missing. 


  1. Gosh those remind me of my childhood...we would head to the orchard, pick apples and that afternoon mom would whip up some caramel...the crunchy tartness of the apple and the smooth sweet caramel...a perfect autumn treat!
