Easter Break

Our school holidays are a little different to mainland Australia, Poppy finished school on the Wednesday before Easter and will have three weeks off for Eater and term break.
On Thursday afternoon we headed down south to Hobart for four nights away.

On Thursday night Tommy and I were lucky enough to sneak away from the kids (Thanks to Aunty Sarah) and head to the John Butler concert, I have been loving his new CD Flesh and Blood and had a fantastic night singing, grooving and maybe enjoying a drink or two at his show.

On Good Friday we headed to Bonorong Wildlife  Sanctuary which was the perfect activity to do on a cold day, all the children loved feeding the animals and learning about their rehabilitation program for sick and orphaned animals. That night a bunch of us headed to the wharf's in Hobart and got some amazing fish and chips from the fish punts, the perfect ending to a very Good Friday.

On Saturday we loaded everyone up in the 4x4 and spent the day traveling the beautiful Huon Trail, being down the other end of the state I hadn't traveled this road for years. We made many stops at little beach coves, orchards, cider houses, cheese makers, handmade chocolate shops, cafes for lunch, The Apple Shed, a car boot sale and the odd gift shop. We were all exhausted (and full!) when we got back but all agreed it was the best day, and we will be traveling the road again soon.

On Saturday night Poppy was excited for Easter Bunny to visit and left him a plate full of goodies and a little note, though the night he came and left a little egg hunt through the house which all three loved.

Sunday we spent the afternoon in the Hobart Botanical Gardens playing ball, sharing delicious breads, cheese, meats and more, exploring the cactus house, amazing herb garden and Uncle James even staged a huge chocolate egg hunt for the little ones.

On Monday we headed back with the twins and left Poppy for the night with her Uncle's to have a sleep over and head to Launceston the next day.

We had a beautiful Easter and were so lucky to be able to spend it with so many of our family and friends.

What did you do for Easter?

Do you have the dreaded chocolate 'hangover'?

Are you still on school holidays?

We are, my three are snuggled up on the couch watching 'Tangled' as I type this... total bliss.

  1. Looks like a beautiful Easter - your photos are amazing! How good is the new community garden at the Botanical Gardens!?! Very impressive. Hope you enjoyed "Tangled", it's one of our faves too, after "Frozen" :-) Enjoy the rest of the holidays.....Mel x

  2. What a beautiful Easter and adventure! I can't wait to share memories like these with my future family

  3. Looks like lots of fun was had over Easter, so many great photos! Great work on the date night, we don't have nearly enough of these! Bless Poppy and her plate of goodies and letter, too cute!
We went camping over Easter, 16 kids in total, 15 aged six and under!! Was heaps of fun and Easter Bunny found us...I've been eating waaay too much chocolate for my liking!
Enjoy the rest of your break! x Dre

I love that you have stopped by, and love reading your thoughts and opions, thanks for sharing. xx
